CommGap was recently invited to participate as a member of the official Utah State Trade Mission to Taiwan and South Korea, led by Governor Gary R. Herbert. World Trade Center Utah, in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, coordinated the event.
This trade mission gave delegates seeking business opportunities in Taiwan & South Korea unparalleled, exclusive access to companies, government agencies, and officials in these growing markets. CommGap works with linguists in those markets, so this was a unique opportunity to build deeper relationships and find new opportunities. In addition, we were able to network with new industries looking for partnership opportunities. CommGap is committed to finding and expanding its reach and understand language services internationally.
Why would we go to Taiwan? Taiwan is Utah’s 6th largest export destination and in 2017, Utah exported $636 million in goods to Taiwan. This represents a 33% increase since 2013.
We were also excited to visit South Korea as it is Utah’s 11th largest export destination. Did you know that in 2017, Utah exported $347 million in goods to South Korea? In the last 15 years, Utah’s Trade with Korea has increased by 293%.
This trip gave CommGap the opportunity to test our new App “in real-world” situations which offer worldwide access to linguists into over 200 languages instantly. Stay tuned for our official release!
